We visit your classroom for this unique experience as students step into the fascinating world of bees, discovering in a fun way why bees are important to our environment and the food we eat

  • We visit schools in Melbourne, Surf Coast, Bendigo, Ballarat and Geelong

  • Length - 1 hour

    Cost - $12 per student + GST

    Min - 20 students / Max - 35 students

  • We hold current public liability insurance, working with children checks and a covid safe plan

    * Note: Due to allergy risks, no live bees will be brought to the Incursion. Separate educational equipment & interactive materials are used to deliver incursions

  • These are an optional extra and are a great accompaniment to the incursion & as a take home item for students to continue the learning at home

Bee Incursion

We visit your centre for an introduction into the buzzing & exciting world of bees. Using a variety of hands on materials & educational games, students will explore new learnings about bees, honey &
the fascinating QUEEN BEE!

Honey & Beeswax Candle Workshop

Engage your senses in this interactive & educational workshop about bees & the gentle art of beekeeping. Participants will learn how honey is harvested , the current impacts facing bees and why bees are vital to our environment.

Including a honey tasting & crafting a pure beeswax candle to take home

Perfect for library events, community groups & secondary schools looking for a unique & hands on educational experience.

    We had Bee Keeper Tom come into our ELC and what an incredible experience. The students loved the interactive games and the short film they watched, even the staff learnt some amazing Bee facts. Bee Keeper Tom is a must if you are exploring Bees in your classroom.

    The Foundation kids are all buzzing about Tom the Beekeeper! Tom was fantastic from the start- easy and professional to communicate with. The students hung on Tom's every word, as he shared his beekeeping expertise it was clear that Tom is extremely passionate and knowledgeable in this area. The students loved the real beekeeping equipment and items that they could touch and explore.

  • St Robert's Newtown

    Beekeeper Tom visited our Year 2's yesterday for an incursion on 'World of Bees'. It was a fantastic learning experience for our cohort, as we move into our new unit on 'Insects'. Tom's manner was warm, friendly and professional. His activities were pitched perfectly to our age-group and activities were engaging and appropriate. We really like how the hour included a mix of movement, listening, tactile exploration and scientific facts and knowledge. I would definitely recommend this incursion for anyone who is studying bees or insects.

    Thomas ran a Bee incursion for our childcare centre - Mulberry tree and the children loved it! He came in well prepared with resource and engaged with the children really well. We had a few parents join in for the incursion and he engaged with them well and shared fun facts! We highly recommend Booking Thomas in for a fun and engaging session.

    Bee Keeper Tom came to our school for an incursion. He was fantastic! He was very engaging for the students. Bee Keeper Tom had fun activities, visuals, interesting equipment, beeswax and honeycomb we had the chance to look at. We all enjoyed learning about the fascinating world of bees and why bees are important to the environment and the food we eat.

    Beekeeper Tom did a great job presenting with our Year 3/4 students. The presentation had lots of energy and passion, and was a great follow up to our earlier work on pollination. Tom involved movement, resources and a creative video of bees at Coastal Nectar.

    We had a wonderful Buzzing Bee Incursion with Beekeeper Thomas from Coastal Nectar. The children and parents were extremely engaged the whole time with amazing resources and delivery of information. There was plenty of laughter to go around too.   • Common Ground Project
